Uzbekistan wants more political and economic ties with Afghanistan
The Uzbek ambassador said that his country wants more political and economic relations with Afghanistan. He also announced that a new delegation will visit Kabul in the near future to cooperate in the electricity sector.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Prime Minister's Office said that Maulvi Abdul Kabir, the political deputy of the department, met with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kabul, Mr. Khaja Yadegar Shadmanov, on Tuesday.
 
According to the department, the Uzbek ambassador expressed his gratitude for the cooperation of the acting government during his diplomatic mission in Afghanistan and said that Afghanistan is a friendly country of Uzbekistan and relations between the two sides are friendly and deep.
 
He noted that during his mission in Afghanistan, he paid special attention to strengthening relations between Kabul and Tashkent, adding that Uzbek officials wanted more political and economic relations with Afghanistan.
 
The Uzbek ambassador recalled the visit of the Uzbek prime minister to Afghanistan and said that the practical work of bilateral economic cooperation has begun.
 
He also announced that another delegation from Uzbekistan will visit Kabul in the near future to cooperate in the electricity sector and strengthen the Amu Sea coast.
 
The Uzbek diplomat, while pointing to the start of work of the Afghan ambassador to Tashkent in the near future, said that his country's technical teams are determined to rebuild the old production plants in Afghanistan.
 
Meanwhile, Maulavi Abdul Kabir, the political deputy of the prime minister, appreciated the diplomatic mission of Khaja Shadmanov in Kabul and his efforts to strengthen relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan and called the relations between the two countries appropriate.
 
He added that the Afghan government has fulfilled its commitments and will never allow harm to be done to neighboring countries and the world from Afghanistan's territory.
 
The political deputy of the prime minister, while pointing out that the Islamic Emirate prioritizes independent politics, said that it also prioritizes positive interaction and wants to be part of economic projects in the region.
 
He is said to have welcomed the statements of the head of Uzbek intelligence on Afghanistan, adding that in the past three years, significant progress has been made in various fields in Afghanistan and the cultivation, production and trafficking of drugs has come close to zero.
