The World Food Program announced assistance to more than 2,500 families in Wakhan
The World Food Program has announced that it has helped 2,500 vulnerable families in the Wakhan district of Badakhshan in the last nine months.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The World Food Program has tweeted today (Monday, July 9) that it provided food aid to these families and also helped them in the field of planting orchards.
 
This institution has said that Wakhan is one of the most deprived districts of Badakhshan and life here is "difficult".
 
The World Food Program added that these donations have strengthened the diet of these families and the process of fighting food insecurity and malnutrition.
 
According to United Nations statistics, 28.8 million people in Afghanistan need humanitarian aid.
