The emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on Lebanon; France proposed a 21-day ceasefire
The emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council was held yesterday (Wednesday) to investigate the recent attacks of the Zionist regime on Lebanon, and France proposed a 21-day temporary ceasefire with the cooperation of the United States with the aim of achieving a permanent ceasefire. The Prime Minister of Lebanon has welcomed this proposal. Meanwhile, Iran's foreign minister warns that we are on the brink of an all-out war because of Israel's actions.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The UN Security Council meeting was held yesterday (Wednesday) on the sidelines of the General Assembly meeting and at the request of France.
Anthony Guterres, the Secretary General of the United Nations, said at the beginning of this meeting: Lebanon is on the edge of the abyss, we should all be concerned about the escalation of tension in Lebanon.
Guterres added: "Lebanon's sovereignty must be respected and the Lebanese government must be able to have complete control over weapons."
The Secretary General of the United Nations also emphasized that the resolution of the Security Council has been widely violated on the Lebanese border, and tensions and attacks have escalated after the explosion of communication devices in Lebanon.
Guterres also said that Lebanon has at least 70 million dollars to meet the needs of the refugees, whose number continues to increase.
 
French Foreign Minister: We have developed a joint plan with America for a ceasefire in Lebanon
French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejournay said at the Security Council meeting: Lebanon's current situation can reach a point of no return. Israeli attacks have left many casualties in Lebanon. He also claimed that Hezbollah is targeting population centers in Israel.
The French Foreign Minister added: If war breaks out between Israel and Hezbollah, Lebanon cannot recover; We must do everything we can to reduce the tension between Israel and Hezbollah.
"Stephan Sejourne" further said: "We are working with America for a temporary ceasefire in Lebanon for 21 days in order to provide the possibility of negotiations; The American-French plan for a temporary ceasefire in Lebanon will be announced soon; I urge both sides to accept the ceasefire without delay.
 
Araghchi: The aim of the Israeli regime is to drag the region into an all-out war
Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, said at the Security Council meeting about Lebanon: "The goal of the Israeli regime is to drag the region into an all-out war. We are on the verge of an all-out war because of Israel's actions."
According to him, Israel does not have the right to be a member of the United Nations, a joint global action should be formed to prevent the normalization of crimes and to stop Israeli aggression.
Araghchi emphasized: The situation in the Middle East is explosive, Israel is a real terrorist regime that does not value peace and human rights.
 
Algerian Foreign Minister: Israel wants to control the entire region
Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Ataf also said at the UN Security Council meeting: We declare solidarity with Lebanon against Israel's heinous aggression. Israel's aggression requires absolute and widespread opposition from all countries.
He added: "What Lebanon is exposed to carries with it all the elements of the crimes that Israel has committed in Gaza. In some way, Israel is trying to turn Lebanon into another Gaza."
Ahmad Ataf further said: Israel proves to us with its occupation that it sees its security in making its neighbors insecure, the occupying regime of Israel has proven that it does not want peace and considers itself exempt from all supervision and laws.
He also emphasized that the West Asian region needs everyone's joint efforts to avoid the scourge of an all-out war in the near future.

Mikati: Israel has violated Lebanon's sovereignty/We welcome France's plan
Najib Mikati, the Prime Minister of the Lebanese Government, welcomed the French ceasefire plan at the emergency meeting of the Security Council on the issue of Lebanon, saying that his country is witnessing brutal attacks and repeated violations of territorial sovereignty by Israel.
Referring to the extensive attacks of the Zionist regime on Lebanon, he announced in a speech that Lebanon is witnessing a clear violation of human rights and a brutal attack by the Zionist regime.
In this meeting, the prime minister of advancing Lebanese affairs expressed concern about the possibility of land attack by the occupiers on Lebanese soil after the explosion of electronic communication devices (pagers) by requesting the mobilization of the international community to expand the war.
He clarified that the current events in Lebanon are part of Israel's aggressions and actions that violate international laws in Lebanon over the past decades.
Mikati added that I have attended this meeting to demand that the members try to get out of this situation and that this council prepare a serious solution to stop Israel's attacks on Lebanon and pressure Israel to stop attacks on all axes of the conflict.
The Prime Minister of Lebanon continued that the Lebanese government adheres to the resolutions of the United Nations regarding the border resolution 1701 and we seriously demand that this regime withdraw from the occupied territories of Lebanon.
At the end of his speech, he praised France's initiative for a ceasefire and ending the war.
