The spokesperson of the United Nations announced the help of this organization to Afghanistan and Pakistan to compensate for the flood damages.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Stephen Dujarric, the spokesman of the United Nations, said that in Afghanistan, heavy rains and sudden floods last week affected several provinces and damaged more than 8,200 families.

Dujarric said that since the beginning of this year, 256 people have died due to sudden floods in Afghanistan, including 118 people who have died since August 1.

The United Nations team in Pakistan is also increasing its support to the authorities in the provinces of Baluchistan and Sindh.

It should be mentioned that the two mentioned states of Pakistan have suffered the most.

A UN spokesman said that an estimated 3,400 homes were damaged or destroyed.

The United Nations and its humanitarian aid partners have deployed assessment teams to identify needs in the affected areas.

Dujarric also added that these teams provide people with basic aid, including food, water, tents, health care services, psychosocial support and other essential supplies.

However, between August 16 and 21, a flash flood in Pakistan left 63 dead and 115 injured.
