Turkey urges ‘sanctions’ against Israel over Gaza bloodshed: Minister
Turkey’s foreign minister on Tuesday called for sanctions against Israel, urging the international community to cut support over the conflict in the Middle East.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: Fidan made the appeal at a meeting with the ruling party delegates about Palestine on Tuesday, as the occupying regime continues its bloody onslaught on Gaza.
“We have reached the limit of words, diplomacy and international politics. We must start with sanctions.”
Noting that Israel has not responded to calls to halt the Gaza war so far, Fidan urged the international community to “cut off support” to the Israeli regime to change the situation on the ground.
“If we cannot, Israel will continue the genocide and massacre in Gaza.”
The Turkish foreign minister said Israel is “not paying any price economically, politically or militarily” for its actions in Gaza.
The international community must now “resort to legal action” and that “Israel needs to be boycotted,” he said.
His remarks came after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan denounced the ongoing Israeli campaign in Gaza and Lebanon last week, describing the regime as “the most direct threat” to both regional and global peace.
Turkey is a fierce critic of Israel’s campaign of genocide in Gaza and its recent deadly push into Lebanon, accusing the United Nations of failing to impose sanctions against the regime for that matter./Press TV
