Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The second quadrilateral meeting of Iran, Russia, China and Pakistan on Afghanistan was held before noon today (Thursday, April 13, 2023) in Samarkand on the sidelines of the fourth meeting of Afghanistan's neighboring countries.
 
Hussain Amir Abdullahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, after the end of this quadrilateral meeting, in a conversation with Sada and Sima news agency about the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the aforementioned meeting, said: We are concerned about the situation in Afghanistan, including the spread of terrorism in Afghanistan, crises caused by the continuation of We paid attention to the American and Western sanctions against Afghanistan and the very difficult living conditions of its people and its very undesirable result, which is the increasing number of displaced people and immigrants towards neighboring countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.
 
Amir Abdullahian added: The issue of narcotics and the need to seriously control its smuggling through neighboring borders, including Iran, was discussed, and in this regard, the responsibility of the interim ruling body of Afghanistan was pointed out.
 
While stressing the serious concern of the Islamic Republic of Iran about depriving Afghan women and girls of education, he announced Iran's readiness to fill the void created in this sector through in-person as well as virtual methods with the cooperation of the country's ruling body and noted that it should not Afghan Muslim women and girls should be denied the right to education and employment.
 
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran also pointed to the holding of the Doha meeting in the coming days regarding Afghanistan, which will be held at the level of special representatives and senior experts of neighboring countries, with the role of the United Nations in this meeting, one of the axes of today's quadrilateral meeting of Iran, China, Russia and He called Pakistan more coordination of these countries to adopt a more coordinated approach of Afghanistan's neighboring countries towards the Doha meeting.
 
Hussain Amir Abdullahian, Sergey Lavrov and China Gang, Foreign Ministers of Iran, Russia and China, and Hina Rabbani, Pakistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, were present in this quadrilateral meeting and discussed the current situation in Afghanistan.
 
The first quadrilateral meeting of these countries regarding Afghanistan was held in 1400 AH, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Summit in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. In that meeting, the foreign ministers of four countries supported the formation of an inclusive government with the participation of all ethnic groups in Afghanistan. Afghanistan free from terrorism, free from narcotics and free from threats against its neighbors was one of the other topics discussed in the first quadrilateral meeting.
