Taliban lash two girls wearing men
Taliban militants have flogged two young girls who were wearing men's clothing while travelling in Afghanistan's northern province of Faryab, an official said Saturday.

Mohammad Tahir Rahmani, the provincial council chief, told 1TV that the girls were related to each other as sisters and had been living as internally displaced people for months in Bala Murghab district of Badghis province.
Four days ago, the girls were returning to their home in Shirin Tagab district of Faryab when they were stopped by a Taliban commander, Naqibullah. The girls were wearing men’s clothing because they had no male companion.
The lashing happened in Islam Qala village, he said.
Karim Yorish, a spokesman for Faryab police, however, rejected the claim.
Taliban have yet to comment.
