Afghanistan Exported Saffron $27M Worth in Past Eight Months
Afghanistan has exported saffron worth $27 million in the past eight months. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MoIC) said.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, Ministry spokesperson Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad said that the overall quantity of saffron is nearly 3 metric tons, and it is exported to various countries of the world.
 
"During the eight months of the 1402 solar year, about 28,620 kilograms of saffron, worth 27 million dollars were exported, mostly to India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Indonesia, Spain, Germany, the US, and England," Jawad said.
 
Meanwhile, the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) said in addition to the fact that the price of saffron has increased in the world market compared to the previous government, the production of this product has also increased.
 
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL), 200 farmers have received training to enable them to increase the production of this spice in other provinces in an effort to promote the saffron plant throughout the nation.
