The invasion of the Soviet Union paved the way for countries to intervene in the affairs of Afghanistan
The 44th anniversary of the Soviet Union's invasion of Afghanistan, experts say that the Soviet Union's invasion of Afghanistan not only led to the continuation of the war and the destruction of infrastructure, but also paved the way for countries to intervene in Afghanistan's affairs.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: In 1358 SH, the Soviet Red Army invaded Afghanistan to support the government of the People's Democratic Party and officially occupied Afghanistan by bringing an army of 100,000 people.

In the invasion of the Soviet Union forces, more than one million people, including 90 thousand Mujahideen, more than 20 thousand security forces and a large number of civilians were killed. This war took the lives of 14 thousand Soviet soldiers.

Ahmad Fawad Niazi, a political expert, told AVA that the Soviet Union's invasion of Afghanistan caused the continuation of the war, the destruction of infrastructure and the ground for countries to intervene in Afghanistan's affairs.

Black day for the people of Afghanistan, he added that after the invasion of the Soviet Union 1358 SH, the people of Afghanistan did not see a good day anymore, the infrastructure of Afghanistan was destroyed, millions of people became disabled and immigrated.

This political informant also had the means that the cause of all the problems and disorders during the last forty-four years in Afghanistan is rooted in the Soviet Union's invasion of our country, because the Soviet Union destroyed the administrative system, infrastructure and order in the society.

Mr. Niazi emphasized: When the Soviet Union took control of Afghanistan and the communist military took over, every "Afghan" raised his voice or was imprisoned or destroyed by the intelligence department.

At the same time, Asadullah Safdari, a religious scholar, also told AVA that when the Soviet forces entered Afghanistan, they attacked the religious and cultural values of the people and started imprisoning and killing religious scholars.

He emphasized that the crime of the Red Army and its supporters finally faced the resistance and struggle of the Muslim nation of Afghanistan and suffered a disgraceful defeat and left Afghanistan in disgrace and in a terrible state.

This religious scholar pointed out that the government of Afghanistan should demand compensation for the people of Afghanistan from the current Russia as the heir of the former Soviet Union, because according to international laws, it is the right of the people of Afghanistan to demand compensation due to aggression.

It is worth recalling that after the Soviet invasion, Afghanistan suffered great human losses, including 1.2 to 1.5 million dead, and mainly rural areas witnessed great destruction due to air and ground operations.

Also, the Soviet invasion destroyed the irrigation system and transportation infrastructure and made criminal economy common in Afghanistan due to poppy cultivation and drug production, which was considered part of the war economy. More than 5 million Afghans immigrated to neighboring countries and millions more were internally displaced.

Finally, in 1367 SH, on the basis of the Geneva Agreement signed between the former Soviet Union, the United States of America, Afghanistan and Pakistan, this occupation in Afghanistan ended and the Soviet forces were withdrawn from Afghanistan in 1368 SH.
