Over 100 terrorists killed in joint Syrian-Russian military operations in Idlib
At least 111 foreign-sponsored Takfiri terrorists have been killed and 80 others wounded after Syrian and Russian forces jointly carried out a string of strikes against terrorist bastions in Syria’s northwestern Province of Idlib.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: Syrian Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Saturday that the days-long intense and precision operations in cooperation with Russian air forces were in response to flagrant violations committed by terror outfits in the southern countryside of Idlib.
“The armed terrorist organizations supported by some regional and international parties continue in launching repeated attacks on safe villages and towns and sites and positions of the Syrian Arab Army adjacent to the de-escalation zones in the Idlib and Hama countryside, so Syrian-Russian forces carried out qualitative operations in the aforementioned sites,” the statement said.
It added that the Syrian army launched heavy and concentrated strikes on terrorist headquarters, fortifications, and ammunition depots, effectively disrupting their capabilities, using a variety of firepower, such as artillery and multiple missile systems.
A substantial number of terrorist strongholds, operation rooms, and warehouses were obliterated, it said.
The majority of the slain terrorists were members of the so-called Ansar al-Tawhid  (Supporters of Monotheism) Takfiri militant group, according to the statement.
Russia has been providing Syrian forces with military assistance in the ongoing battles across the conflict-plagued Arab country.
The Russian assistance, which began in September 2015 at the official request of the Syrian government, has proved effective as Syrians continue to recapture key areas from remnants of the Daesh terrorist group and other foreign-backed terrorist factions./Pars today
