The Republicans of the US Congress seriously oppose the new financial aid plan for Ukraine

13 Aug 2023 - 9:58

Some Republicans in the US Congress have expressed their serious opposition to the President's new request to provide $24 billion in aid to Ukraine.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The US government's new financial aid to Ukraine is part of a more complete supplemental package to Congress on Thursday, which includes $4 billion for the border crisis and countering foreign interference in the fentanyl epidemic.

America has given more than 100 billion dollars to Kiev since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.

According to Iran Press, in the midst of the heightening of the border crisis and the fentanyl drug epidemic, the leaders of the American Republican Party strongly criticized the presentation of President Joe Biden's request to Congress for $24 billion aid to Ukraine.

Biden's request includes $13 billion for defense and $11 billion for economic aid in Ukraine.

Some Republicans stated that America has provided enough aid to Ukraine.

Wyoming State Senator John Barrasso announced on Friday: This request for additional spending requires a serious review by Congress and the American people. While the Biden administration has ignored the humanitarian and security disaster at the border, their appetite for spending billions of dollars on other priorities is endless.

Josh Hawley, a Republican senator from Missouri who is a member of the State Affairs and Homeland Security Committees and a critic of aid to Ukraine, said: This request shows how out of sync Joe Biden is with the American people.

According to this report, it is unlikely that Biden's request will be supported in the House of Representatives.

Speaker Kevin McCarthy has promised not to send the supplementary budget bill to the parliament.

The US government's budget request has been accompanied by an increase in illegal immigration at the border with Mexico, and almost all sections of the border are struggling with illegal immigration.

As of the end of June 2023, the Border Patrol has faced approximately 1.8 million illegal border crossings.
