Moscow warned about the use of the Wagner group rebellion for "anti-Russian" purposes by the West

25 Jun 2023 - 8:55

Today, the Russian government warned the West against exploiting the insurgency of this militant group to achieve what Moscow called "anti-Russian" goals.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Russian Foreign Ministry announced in a statement yesterday, Saturday, June 24: "We warn Western countries against any possible use of Russia's internal developments to achieve anti-Russophobia goals.

On the other hand, the mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, announced that since "anti-terrorist operations" are underway in Moscow, Monday will be a non-working day to "minimize risks".

He asked the people of the Russian capital to "refrain from traveling in the city as much as possible".

In a statement published on Telegram in this regard, he described the current situation as "difficult" and wrote: "There is a possibility that some passages and neighborhoods of the city will be blocked."

Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told TASS news agency this evening that "the president is still working in the Kremlin," but rumors are rife on social media as Wagner's mercenaries are apparently trying to make their way into the capital.

Some social media users have claimed that Putin's special plane left Moscow at 2:16 p.m. on Saturday and headed northwest, according to the flight radar tracking service.

Then, apparently, the plane disappeared from the radar near the city of Tor, northwest of Moscow.

It should be noted that the Wagner militant group, which is dissatisfied with the war policy of the Putin government in the confrontation with Ukraine, the leader of this group announced yesterday that he will move to Moscow with his forces to ensure justice.
