6 Feb 2023 - 16:11

The adviser to the president of the Donetsk People's Republic, which is now part of Russia, accused the Ukrainian forces of using chemical weapons.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Yan Gagin, adviser to the President of the Donetsk People's Republic, in an interview with the TASS news agency, added that the commanders of the operational units reported that some soldiers in the front lines of "Artyomovsk" (Bakhmut) and "Solidar" showed symptoms such as They experience severe dizziness, nausea and vomiting.

Pointing out that the Ukrainian forces have a history of using chemical weapons in the war, he continued: Ukrainian drones with special compartments spread a substance that causes nausea, shortness of breath and coughing along all the front lines.

According to an adviser to the leader of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the Ukrainians have released videos showing foreign gas grenades and drones designed to launch them, without trying to keep it a secret.

Gagin stressed that it is necessary to record all cases of use of "prohibited weapons of the Geneva Convention" and send relevant information to the United Nations.

"Donetsk" is one of the four provinces of Ukraine that Russia joined its territory after holding a referendum in September of last year, and considers this province along with Luhansk to be a part of its territory.

Reuters news agency wrote in a report: The area around Bakhmut, with a population of 70,000 before the war, witnessed the heaviest battles of the 11-month war. Bakhmut has been largely razed to the ground by repeated attacks, and although Western military analysts believe the city is of little strategic importance, control of Bakhmut now holds symbolic importance for Russia and Ukraine.

According to Politico, Bakhmut is an important transportation center for supplying equipment to the Ukrainian forces stationed in Donbass.

In this regard, Politico magazine reported yesterday that Ukrainian soldiers have to abandon their positions in some cases due to lack of ammunition or lack of organization by commanders to avoid "useless death".

Also, Russia announced on January 13 that its forces captured the town of Solidar in Donetsk province in eastern Ukraine after several months of heavy fighting.
