The process of providing aid to the earthquake victims in the east of the country is being accelerated

The head of the United Nations Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has promised in a meeting with the Minister of Interior of the Islamic Emirate that the process of providing aid to the earthquake victims in eastern Afghanistan will be accelerated.


Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Marcus Potzel; Head of the Office of the United Nations Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) and Ramiz Al-Akbarov; The UN humanitarian affairs coordinator in Afghanistan with the local elders of the earthquake-stricken Khost province and Sirajuddin Haqqani; The Minister of Interior of the Islamic Emirate visited.
 
According to the announcement published by UNAMA, these senior UN officials discussed the effective and quick delivery of humanitarian aid to people in need.
 
The announcement adds that a strong team from the United Nations is on the ground in the earthquake-affected areas to deliver essentials, including food, water, health care and temporary shelters, to the affected individuals and families.
 
UNAMA also emphasized that this organization plans to conduct seismic studies in Afghanistan with the cooperation of experts.
 
The Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Emirate also wrote in an announcement that the UN delegation has promised to speed up the process of delivering aid to the earthquake victims.
 
The notice added that Potzel, in a meeting with the representatives of the earthquake-affected people in Paktia and Khost, also promised that aid teams will soon be sent to the earthquake-affected areas to assess the level of house destruction.
