19 Iranian soldiers killed, 15 wounded as anti-ship missile test turns deadly
At least 19 Iranian soldiers were killed after an anti-ship missile test turned deadly in the Gulf of Oman, the Iranian state media reported.
The incident, involving a friendly fire, took place during a training exercice near the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday.
According to a report by Iranian state media, the Iranian naval forces were testing a new anti-ship missile which was fired by frigate Jamaran, hitting a light support ship, Konarak.
The report further added that 15 Iranian soldiers also sustained injuries in the incident.
The two vessels, Jamran adn Konarak are said to belong to naval forces of the military of Iran.
