US denies pull out from Afghanistan without ceasefire
The official said that the US goal is to help bring peace in Afghanistan and it would like a future partnership with a post peace government.
The United States has said that it does not want presence of foreign troops in Afghanistan and pull out from the country is not possible without a ceasefire. Speaking in Kabul, a senior US official, who was part of the negotiations with the Taliban in Qatar, said that Washington is committed to the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan after 17 years of war.
He said there was a significant progress in talks last week with Afghan Taliban militants in Qatar on the foreign troop pullout but more negotiations are needed on a ceasefire and its timing.
