خبرگزاری Afghn Voice Agency(AVA) , 16 Sep 2018 - 14:04

Afghanistan's Interior Ministry on Saturday warned of using force after protesters loyal to opposition movement Grand National Coalition of Afghanistan shut down election offices in multiple cities.

AVA- “Election is a national process. It is the forces’ duty to maintain full security for election offices and if needed, they can also use force,” said Akhtar Mohammad Ibrahmi, senior deputy interior minister.
Afghanistan’s long-delayed parliamentary election is scheduled to take place on October 20.
On Saturday, protestors loyal to Grand National Coalition of Afghanistan shut down the provincial offices of the Independent Election Commission in the cities of Mazar-i-Sharif, Herat and Kandahar, citing concerns over possible fraud.
GNCA leaders have demanded that the process should involve use of biometric technology and monitoring by political parties.
The government has said that use of biometric technology is not possible due to shortage of time.
