Hamdullah Mohib takes over as new NSA of Afghanistan
Hamdullah Mohib began his job as new national security adviser of Afghanistan on Sunday.

Mohib was shifted from Afghan ambassadorship in U.S. to the new post after Hanif Atmar quit the post a day earlier citing policy differences with the leadership of the government.
On Sunday, President Ashraf Ghani introduced Mohib to his new office.
“I assume this responsibility at a critical time for Afghanistan, when Afghans are still living with fear and the threat of terrorism and insecurity,” Mohib said in a statement on Saturday. “I promise to keep the safety and security of the Afghan people as my foremost priority.”
He said that the Afghan security forces and people deserve “vision, accountability and clarity from their security leadership, and I will strive to serve them with the same level of loyalty and patriotism they have shown to the Afghan nation.”
