Imports from Afghanistan still being taxed at Torkham
Despite Pakistan’s decision on scrapping the regulatory duty, imports from Afghans continue to be taxed at the Torkham border, a business leader says.
Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Zahidullah Shinwari called the collection of the regulatory duty on imports an illegal act. 
During a meeting with Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Pasha at the Chamber’s House in Peshawar on Wednesday, he demanded the removal of 2 per cent additional customs duty on imports.
Shinwari voiced his concern over the collection of the illegal levy at on imported goods and called for concrete steps to address the issue on a priority basis.
