Afghan forces kill three senior Taliban militants in north
Three senior Taliban militants have been killed by the Afghan forces in north of the country, according to officials Saturday.

Afghan Voice Agency(AVA), The dead included the militant group’s deputy shadow governor for Samangan province, shadow governor of Ruy-e-Duab district in the same province and shadow governor of Kaldar district in Balkh province, according to separate statements from Interior Ministry.

Taliban’s deputy shadow governor for Samangan province was identified as Jalal. The militant governor of Ruy-e-Duab district was identified as Ghyasuddin. The ministry said that both were killed in a special raid by police in Ab Khorak area of Ruy-e-Duab district.

The operation also resulted in killing of six more militants and wounding of 15 others.

In a separate statement, the Interior Ministry said that73 militants were killed during the operations over the past 24 hours.

The operations happened in the provinces of Helmand, Kandahar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Uruzgan, Badghis, Baghlan and Balkh and Samangan.

27 more insurgents were injured and 11 others arrested in the operations, the statement said.

The dead included also Taliban’s shadow governor for Kaldar district of Balkh province.
